If you collected all of the hidden keys and brought them to the secret dungeon in the castle in the first chapter of DELTARUNE, you had the chance to face Jevil, the chapter’s secret boss. Due to its high difficulty and great soundtrack, the Jevil battle was all over YouTube for a few months at the time. Also, for a time, Jevil was… strangely popular on Tumblr? But, with the publication of Chapter 2 of DELTARUNE, it’s time for Jevil to make way for another hidden boss, one who has already proven strangely famous on Tumblr at the time of writing. Here’s how to get the DELTARUNE chapter 2 hidden boss.
Because the whole procedure is a little… long, here’s an abbreviated step-by-step before we get into the details:
DELTARUNE Chapter 2: How to Unlock the Secret Boss
To Unlock the Secret Boss in Chapter 2 of DELTARUNE:
- Find the three blue check marks to recruit the Hacker in Cyber Field.
- During the narrative, defeat Spamton.
- Purchase the Key-Gen from Spamton’s store in the Trash Zone.
- To find the hidden switch, follow the Hacker through Queen’s Mansion.
- With the Key-Gen, unlock the tunnel, enter the basement, and collect the Disk.
- Return to Spamton’s store and use the Disk to upload him.
- Return to the basement and replace the Disk where it was found.
Obtain the hacker’s services.
On Cyber Field, at the start of the Library Dark World, you’ll come across a four-way crossroads. If you turn right and up, you’ll see a man on a tiny platform with a big mouse pointer for a head. This is the Hacker, and he’d be happy to work for you if you could first do him a favor. Three blue checkmarks are required, and they are all scattered around Cyber Field.
Go all the way to the right through the bullet sections south of the Hacker to find the first checkmark. You’ll come upon a corridor filled with Tasques, with a chest holding the first checkmark at the very bottom right. The second checkmark is in the location where three teacup rides are located. To get to the top, ride the one in the center, rotating and catching all of the up arrows. Your check is inside the chest, which you may open. The last checkmark may also be found on the teacup rides, although this time on the left. There’s a long word problem at the top that asks you to spell “GIASFELFEBREHBER.” Don’t worry; it’s really very easy; just follow the letters on the keyboard’s route. Once you’ve completed the puzzle, you’ll get your last checkmark. If you return to the Hacker, he will agree to assist you.
Destroy Spamton and locate the store.
Queen will urge you to travel down an alleyway with Queen and Noelle later in the game to press a walk button and clear a traffic congestion while you’re in the vehicle with them. Spamton G. Spamton, the strange salesperson, will greet you in the alley. Spamton will request (in his slightly complicated manner) that you come to his store in the Trash Zone after a short fight.
When you arrive to Queen’s Mansion, walk to the left and utilize the warp door near the café to return to the Trash Zone. There should be a hole in the northern wall in the leftmost section that leads to Spamton’s shop. Spamton needs a unique Disk from the Mansion’s basement, but you’ll need his Key-Gen to unlock the door. He’ll sell you the Key-Gen, but the price will vary at random. Keep an eye on the price, and when it drops below a certain threshold, hit A to purchase it. Don’t worry if you make a mistake; you can always cancel and wait for the price to adjust.
Find the hidden switch.
Return to the Mansion with the Key-Gen in hand. There are two ways ahead after beating Tasque Manager: a stairway and a traffic crossing. On traverse the crossing and enter the chamber to the right, use the different crossing buttons along the road. The Hacker will be looking through the room’s numerous knickknacks for a hidden switch. Keep an eye on him as he walks back and forth, since his head will momentarily transform into a finger cursor when he’s directly in front of the switch. Interact with the object he points to to reveal a hidden entrance leading to the basement, as well as a shortcut back to the Mansion’s main hall.
Unlock the door.
To access the basement, use the Key-Gen to unlock the door. Because the route to the right is obstructed by a barrier, take the path to the left instead. As you go down the corridor to the leftmost chamber, keep an eye out for the pointy plug things. This chamber will feature a teacup ride for you to ride down, with a switch to disable the barrier at the bottom. Rotating dangers will emerge as you ride the teacup back up, so rotate the ride along with them to keep Kris alive. Return to the basement door and follow the right route back to the top. Follow the tracks all the way to the finish and into the eastern chamber, where you’ll find a broken robot. To get the Disk, interact with the robot.
Go back to the store.
When you return to Spamton’s Shop in the Trash Zone, he’ll want to be uploaded on the Disk. Keep in mind that if you do this, Spamton’s Shop will shut forever, so if there’s anything you want to purchase from him, do it now. Return to the Mansion basement and re-insert the Disk into the robot where you found it once you’ve uploaded Spamton onto the Disk. Spamton has a new body, and he won’t be hesitant about using it on you, so make sure you have some healing supplies on hand.
