What is Sprout & When Does It Go Away? –

Sprout is a social media platform that was created by the developers of Vine. It’s main goal is to connect people with similar interests and passions. The platform has been around for just over two years and it’s unclear when it will be going away.

New players in Final Fantasy XIV are referred to as sprouts. This is because new players are identifiable by a distinctive “Sprout” emblem next to their name, which allows other players to quickly recognize them.

When you reach 168+ hours of cumulative playing and complete the Stormblood Expansion, you will lose your Sprout status.

And it’s entirely OK if you have no idea what this little emblem represents!

You can still be a Sprout after completing the main game, beating the first expansion, and playing for hundreds of hours.

You could even feel a pang of existential dread when you glance about at other players who seem to be much more evolved than you, only to discover that they’re all still Sprouts.

The good news is that the status is just temporary, and it will vanish after you meet a few basic requirements.

So, when do I stop being a Sprout?

You’ll need to play for at least 168 hours and finish the Stormblood expansion up to Patch 4.5 content. Simply said, you must rush up to Shadowbringers’ door before the small green indicator vanishes.

168 hours seems to be a significant amount of time (and to be fair, it is).

However, I know people who have played the game for over 600 hours and have yet to lose their Sprout status!

The notion of a “new player” in Final Fantasy XIV is perhaps a little hazy.

There’s no turning back after you’ve unsprouted by meeting these conditions, unless you take a lengthy vacation from the game.

An unsprouted player may be identified with a flower emblem that indicates them as a Returner after 45 days of absence.

Returning players have access to The Novice Network as well as a bonus experience while playing with Mentors up to level 20.

Returning players, on the other hand, have the choice to refuse Returner status if they so want.

What Does It Mean To Be A Sprout?

Is it Possible for Me to Turn Off Sprout Status?

Yes, you may – however, as previously said, that tiny green leaf indicator comes with a slew of advantages.

Allowing all of the memes and concerns to stigmatize what is supposed to be a beneficial system for everyone is not a good idea.
