The Iron Halo Con is a gaming convention in the United States. It was started by Ryan and Stephanie Ketchum, who are also the founders of the popular YouTube channel “Warhammer 40k Winning Lists.”
The 40k competitive lists 9th edition is a list of the winners of the Iron Halo Con Warhammer 40k tournament.
This weekend’s Iron Halo Con was a well-attended big event. To finish off the Lord Marshall Conference, 102 participants brought their A game to Iron Halo. Grey Knights made up over 10% of the Iron Halo field, and after six rounds, they were in first place.
However, as previously stated, the new Greener normal was on show when Orks came in second and third. Now for the Iron Halo Con results and winners’ lists!

What could be more terrifying than a Dread Knight? Obviously, all of the Dreadknights. However, with a detachment restriction of one Grand Master dread per detachment, 5 is the maximum one can safely take. Of course, if you’re going to devote money to the dreads, you may as well add the ability to repair them as well. Ben accomplished this with the help of two Techmarines, one from each detachment.
There are many reasons why this list is the winner. The GreyKnight secondaries are the first. If your opponent doesn’t have psychic protection, purifying objectives is a simple 15 points. Alternatively, teleport attack, as these dreads are eager to get their hands on the Nemesis Greatsword and start cutting. When the big Interceptors can be divided in half, the secondary to the last works well as an alternative. In addition, the Techmarines are capable of repairing the more costly Dreadknight.
Vanguard Aggression enables a core unit to march with the Dread Knight with this warlord trait, so you can’t ignore this army. In addition, the Unyielding Anvil is Double Objective secured to compensate for the army’s low model count. (Objective secured models are counted as two instead of one in Double Objective Secured.) Otherwise, models that aren’t objectively secure become objectively secure.) Overall, a fantastic list that deserves to win the Final Iron Halo.

Colin McDade came in second place at the Iron Halo Con.
Orks are unbeatable. Colin went unbeaten in this instance, but failed to score points in a few games. This led him to play down rounds 5 and 6, despite the fact that pairings had been randomized for the previous four rounds.
Conversions were restricted to model and kit releases, thus no Squigasuars were used for the time being, but this list, like the third place list in last week’s Aliance Open, relied on the Freebooterz for the +1 to hit.
Due to the Warlord refund, a single patrol is utilized to conserve command points over more specialized detachments. In addition, two detachments are needed to transport 3-4 aircraft. 3 Dakka Jets and 1 Wazbom Blastajet in this instance. The additional CP saved may be used to put the aircraft in strategic reserve, preventing them from being blasted off the table on the first turn. To do so at power level 34 for all four aircraft, four command points would be needed. Fortunately, aircraft in strategic reserves may Deepstrike anywhere on the field, as long as they are 9” away from enemy models. Getting into range with the Wazbom’s giant blastas is simple, as they consistently do D3+3 damage.

Even if the Orks lose, they just return to battle. Dan was pushed out of contention for first or second place when he came into touch with Tim Royers Imperium list, which was remarkably similar to Colin McDade’s. Dan was confronted by a Castellan Knight wielding Cawl’s Wrath Relic and Ion Bulwark. The Knight wasn’t going to be simple to take down, with a toughness of 8 and a 4++ invulnerability. The Castellan also has enough firepower to clear buggies. When there were just four goals in the Battlelines task, it was difficult to cope with.
Dan, unlike Colin McDade, chose the Burna Bommer as his fourth aircraft. The Burna bomb may be dropped over a wide area, potentially killing many people. Great for cleaning single wound models like Skitarii blobs that have become tangled. Another distinction was the Warlord trait selection: -1 to be injured should help keep the warlord alive. He was almost 30 points ahead of the next 5-1 player, indicating that he has a strong list that can rack up the scores.
